Dear Friends,

We are extremely happy to submit the quarterly report of children with Multiple disabilities.

We whole-heartedly appreciate the generous support of  donors & Global Giving community.

Your valuable donation has been utilized to provide residential Education, Training & Rehabilitation for the children with disabilities.

In this project we have children with multiple disabilities (Visually Impairment with Mentally Challenged or Hearing loss and Physically disabled ).

These children are neglected by their parents due to poverty.  Hence Divine Light is providing free residential Education and appropriate training in :  Horticulture, Craft & Music, Tailoring , Braille,  Orientation & Mobility, Parent counselling,  Medical  intervention,  Social Skills &  Self  help care etc… in order to bring them to the mainstream. 

 The following are the highlights of this quarter :-

April 2015 -        Survey of the disabled children in and around Bangalore.

and Parents training and counselling programme has been organized.

May 2015 -        Identification and assessment of children with disabilities

               -       4 children appeared for 10^th Class Public examination and  secured Distinction in the public exam.

1^st Week of June 2015          -        Admission of children with disabilities.

16^th June 2015                    -        Workshop on Prevention of disability

  The Success Story of Guru

Guru is  19 year old,  he is Mentally challenged with Learning Disability.  He came to our Institution at the age of  13 years.  He come from very poor family and he was neglected by his parents. 

Therefore we admitted  Guru to our center  after Medical  Intervention,   we began the training programme like : self-help care,  Social skills,  and then we began regular academics.   Due to  our  intensive  & individual attention,   he has come-up very well and   developed self-confidence.

He appeared for 10^th class Public examination conducted by the Govt. of Karnataka in the month of March 2015 and he secured First class in the  examination and he pursuing further studies with us. 

The Global Giving support has helped him immensely to complete his examination and secured distinction in the Public exam.  

We take this opportunity to thank in a special way to Global Giving and to all our  donors who have contributed generously for the benefit of the children with disabilities.
