Support for 50 Multi disabled children

By K.S.Raveendra – Project Leader

Dear Friends,

We are extremely happy to submit the  quarterly report of children with  Multiple disabilities.

We whole-heartedly appreciate the generous support of  donors & Global Giving community.

Your valuable donation has been utilized to provide appropriate residential Education, Training & Rehabilitation of children with disabilities.

This is on-going project; in our project we have children with Multiple disabilities (Visually Impaired and visually impairment with  Mentally challenged or Hearing loss).

The background of these children are socially, economically backward and they are severe disabled due to malnutrition.   These children are neglected by their parents due to poverty.  Hence Divine Light is providing free residential Education and appropriate training to bring them to the mainstream.

April and May we have conducted the survey.  In the month of June we have admitted 21 new children and began Training programmes with the following skills:-

  1. Self-help care,
  2. Orientation and Mobility

     3.  Braille reading and writing

     4.  Communication skills

     5.  Functional skills

    6.  Fine motor and Visual motor skills

    7.  Awareness about Environment

    8.  Computer Training programme

    9.  Horticulture Training Programme

   10.  Tailoring Programme.

The Success Story of Parvathi

Parvathi  is  18 year old,  she is Mentally Challenged with speech problem.   She came to our Institution at the age of  12 years.  She come from very poor family and she was neglected by her parents.  Therefore the Divine Light admit Parvathi to our center after medical  intervention, we began her training in : self-help care, Social skills, House hold activities, Tailoring, craft and music with dance.   She is slowly gaining confidence & benefiting from our training .  We hope that with this training she could stand on her feet and lead a dignified life in the society along with her parents.

We take this opportunity to thank in a special way to Global Giving and to all our  donors who have contributed generously for the benefit of the children with disabilities.

With regards,

Sincerely,

K.S.RAVEENDRA
