Dear Patron, Namaste!
RSKS India successfully organized a 3-day residential Capacity Building Training Programme for rural adolescent girl youth leaders, focused on leadership development, life skills, and peer education. A total of 56 adolescent girls (peer leaders) from rural communities participated with great enthusiasm and commitment. The training aimed to strengthen their confidence, decision-making abilities, and leadership qualities so they can act as change agents within their own villages.
The training was designed with highly interactive and participatory methodologies. Expert trainers facilitated engaging sessions through motivational games, experiential learning activities, and practical assignments. The girls actively participated in group discussions, street play (nukkad natak), poster making, teamwork tasks, and communication exercises. These creative methods helped them build self-expression, collaboration skills, and problem-solving abilities in a joyful learning environment.
This training became a powerful journey of empowerment and solidarity. All participants expressed high energy, curiosity, and willingness to learn. At the end of the programme, each participant took a collective pledge to educate and support other girls in their villages, spreading awareness on education, health, and rights. Certificates were awarded to all participants, recognizing their successful completion of the training.
A post-training feedback exercise reflected exceptional impact, with 100% of the girls reporting complete satisfaction. One participant, Parul (name changed), shared that she now feels confident to speak in front of others and inspire her peers to continue their education and avoid early marriage. This initiative has not only strengthened 56 young leaders but also created a strong ripple effect of empowerment across rural communities.
Donor Reflection.......
RSKS India regularly receives valuable suggestions, guidance, and feedback from its donors and partners. The following message is from a respected DONOR associated with RSKS for the past 10 years:
"Educating girls is most important, as they will be the mothers/first teachers of the babies and young children. Educating girls can change society in one generation. And everyone deserves an education for the development of their own life!"
