Summer Career Workshop| June 2026

By Mona Zhang | Program Officer

On June 13, 2026, volunteers from Shining Star visited Renhua Middle School to host a career workshop for senior girls who had just completed their college entrance exams.

The event began with an ice-breaking game led by Sister Jinling, which quickly eased the girls' shyness and filled the room with laughter. Sister Mengmeng then shared the story of Shining Star, spreading warmth through every word.

To help the girls manage post-exam emotions, Sister Jinling guided them through a reflective activity, writing down their thoughts on sticky notes.A special cake-cutting moment followed, where everyone made wishes under candlelight. Brother Yonghao provided practical guidance on college application strategies, breaking down admissions rules to help the girls navigate this critical step.

Sister Mengmeng then led a Holland Career Test session, helping each girl explore her potential and future career directions. Sister Lirui painted a vivid picture of campus life—covering everything from daily routines to extracurricular activities—sparking excitement for the university experience ahead.

Sister Zhimei shared valuable resources on scholarships and financial aid, offering practical advice for long-term planning. We were also honored to have Sister Kali, who shared her career development insights and encouraged the girls to bravely pursue their passions. Volunteers from Jinjiang Group joined the discussion, sharing their own professional journeys and answering questions on majors and career planning.

The day was filled with meaningful sharing and warm exchanges. By the end, the girls felt more confident about their upcoming college applications and more excited about the future. The college entrance exam is not the end of the road—it is the beginning of a new journey. Shining Love wishes every student health, happiness, and the fulfillment of all their dreams.
