Dear Esteemed Patrons,

Seasonal Greetings to you from Health Education Adoption Rehabilitation Development Society (HEARDS) – India!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for donating to support working children education in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA.   We are overwhelmed with your support towards this inevitable project. Due to the grinding poverty in the families, which forces the children into labor at tender ages, majority of the children are primary school drop-outs, while some of them are illiterate. They are thus deprived of the basic right to education. The main objective of the project is to provide education facilities for the rescued child laborers from Chittoor. All the targeted 50 children within the age-group of 6-14 years and belonging to SC, ST and minority communities are the target-groups of the proposed project. 40% of the targeted children are the girl children belonging to backward communities. All the targeted children belong to poor families. Their fathers are the landless laborers whose income is too meager to meet the educational expenses of their children.

We are giving proper care, guidance and education to the children through various activities and programmes. We have good and committed staffs who take care to address the needs of the children especially regarding the educational improvement in them.  This year once again we have started to adopt more innovative teaching methods in mathematics and science.  For language we are trying this with the help of computers as it has given a drastic change for the children during the previous years.

We are also trying the child to equip with knowledge, skills, values and rights that would help him achieve personal development. This education should give him an insight into the socio-economic circumstances, which have led his family to send him to lead a life, which should be certainly better than that of a bonded laborer. He should also learn to aspire for a better future for himself, his peers and his family.

Teachers are giving additional coaching for children, individual attention given in the center through dedicated teacher helping to bring them from the attitude of earning and working interest to learning different subjects. The children have forgotten to read and write due to long gap of schooling, now they are showing interest to read and write in the group, giving interest in each grade subjects.

For the kind note of the patrons we were seeking more educational materials towards the teaching of the children in innovative way. These active based learning methodology helps these children to learn by way of play way method. So therefore I request you to kindly support us in order to increase the educational standard of our children.

Thanking you all,

With best wishes and fond regards,
