Summary

In Piruaj Bajo, only men have the right to work the land, leaving women without opportunities for employment or entrepreneurship. Women who are not living with a man often face extreme poverty. The women ceramists' project aims to empower local women by helping them develop their skills in ceramics, providing them with a path to economic independence and a dignified source of income to support their families.

Challenge

The problem in Piruaj Bajo is that only men are allowed to work the land, leaving women without access to employment or the ability to start their own businesses. Women who live without a man often face extreme poverty. This lack of economic opportunity limits their independence and ability to support their families. The project addresses this by providing women with ceramic training to create a sustainable source of income.

Solution

This project will solve the problem by providing women with technical training in ceramics and marketing, equipping them with the tools they need to build sustainable businesses. A dedicated workspace will be built, along with a kiln for firing their creations. These resources will empower women to generate income, gain independence, and improve their living conditions through their own craft and entrepreneurship.

Long-Term Impact

The project's long-term impact includes greater economic independence for women, reduced poverty, and stronger gender equality in Piruaj Bajo. By mastering ceramics and entrepreneurship, women can create lasting sources of income. The community will benefit from increased local production, cultural preservation, and improved well-being. Over time, this can inspire future generations and shift social norms about women's roles and rights.
