Project Report | Apr 30, 2026
Steady steps through a challenging start.

By Pippa Jarvis | Managing Director

As we reflect on the first quarter of our school year, we do so with a mixture of honesty and encouragement. Schools in South Africa are working within complex systems and we have experienced both meaningful progress and real challenges — from navigating systemic constraints to supporting learners carrying the weight of difficult personal circumstances.

And yet, through it all, we have remained strong in our commitment to giving kids a solid education base.

There have been difficult days — moments when progress feels slow, and when external pressures weigh heavily on both learners and staff. But there have also been quiet breakthroughs: a child concentrating for longer than before, a learner beginning to trust, a small but significant step forward in confidence or capability.

Why your support matters

Your support enables us to hold steady in the midst of these realities. It allows us to keep showing up — to provide not only education, but the relational foundation that makes learning possible in the first place.

In a context where many children face instability, the predictability of a caring classroom becomes a powerful force for change. It is here, in these steady, repeated moments, that resilience is built.

Looking ahead

As we move into the next quarter, we remain committed to strengthening both academic support and emotional care for our learners. We are learning, adapting, and continuing to believe deeply in the potential of every child entrusted to us.

Thank you for standing with us through both the ups and the downs. Your partnership makes it possible for this work to continue — and for each child to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

With gratitude,
Pippa Jarvis
