The recent U.S. government stop-work order on foreign aid and funding freezes have severely affected community-based organizations (CBOs) across Kenya. Many of these organizations, which provide essential services in education, health, and skills training, have been left struggling to survive. To address this crisis, Ready Aiders Foundation is launching a Local Resource Mobilization & Capacity Building Training Program to equip 150 community-based organizations with the skills and knowledge.
The heavy reliance on foreign aid has left many grassroots organizations vulnerable when funding is withdrawn. Without alternative fundraising strategies, many CBOs have been forced to scale down or shut down, leaving communities without critical services. This project will empower them to become self-reliant, strengthen local partnerships, and continue their impactful work.
Through this initiative, Ready Aiders Foundation will provide: 1.Capacity Building Workshops - Strengthening leadership, financial management, and proposal writing skills. 2.Community Participation & Engagement Strategies - Ensuring organizations can mobilize local support, partnerships, and volunteers. 3.Practical Resource Mobilization Techniques - Teaching CBOs how to diversify their funding
By equipping 150 organizations with fundraising and resource mobilization skills, this project will help rebuild community-driven initiatives, ensuring that essential programs remain operational. Instead of depending solely on external donors, these organizations will become self-sufficient, resilient, and better positioned to serve their communities.
