StoryBook Treasures offers Professional Development to Teachers!
During this time of year, the StoryBook Treasures (SBT) team is busy teaching teachers! We offer Professional Development training to each and every teacher using the SBT program. Every SBT teacher learns how to promote excitement and a love of reading through rich vocabulary, higher level thinking and story connections so strong, students are able to retell stories from memory. What makes our program so powerful is the magic that happens in the classroom when students realize they each receive their very own copy of the SBT storybooks to hold and read during the week of classroom instruction. The books and materials become a powerful teaching tool as students can't wait to read and reread their stories over and over during the school day. When instruction is complete the excitement and love of reading is relived as the students bring their SBT books and materials home in a special SBT backpack to share with siblings, parents and grandparents. The books and materials become part of the child's very own home library to love and cherish over and over, and to one day perhaps share with their own children. It’s the teachers who make our program exciting, meaningful for their students and families. The SBT program creates a school and home community where children and families love books and love to read!
Thank YOU for making our program possible!
It is because of donors like you that we are able to provide teacher training, books and educational material to the children and teachers of needy communities. When you support StoryBook Treasures you are giving children an opportunity to love reading and love books. Thank you for helping us launch our new and growing program!
Fondly,
The StoryBook Treasures Team
