In 2025, Osotuwa Foundation is working hard to find more and larger donors or grants to fund the increasing number of Maasai girls in Tanzania who are desiring to escape early forced marriage and and instead attend school. We have 8-year sponsorships for approximately 80 of our girls which ensures that they have preparation for a career or vocation. Right now, though, we are struggling to find funds to keep 54 existing girls in school ($600/year needed for each girl) as well as helping 180 girls (first photo) who came to us for help in 2026. Our founder, Isaya Oleporuo, will be running the Columbus Marathon in Ocotober, 2025 as a fundraiser for these girls (second photo and see website).
The fact that so many parents are bringing their daughters to Osotuwa Foundation for support shows that the mindset of the Maasai elders is changing, but we need to keep the momentum going in the very rural village of Eluai and beyond for the Tanzanian Maasai.
