The crowd funding process can seem a bit daunting but as first timers, it has been an enriching experience.
DIL SE works towards preventing and healing child sexual abuse. It’s a topic that most people are not willing to discuss and yet globally it affects 1 in 5 children.
Our team at the Child Advocacy Centre in Kochi, Kerala, India visits schools, residents associations and police stations to give classes on Basic Understanding of Child Sexual Abuse, but there are only so many people’s lives that we can touch this way.
Seeing how many people in India visit theatres (cinemas), we decided that using the media would be an effective way to catch people’s attention and through the kindness of our donors we are achieving this aim.
Thanks to the funds raised by our crowd funder with GlobalGiving, we have been able to complete the animation part of a 60 second video aimed at being released in movie halls hopefully throughout most of India.
The music is being finalized as well as the voice over from a famous Malayalam actor for the local language (the English version has been done already).
Without you all, we would not have been able to imagine creating this so soon.
