Original target reached! one last push!

Thank you everyone who's donated to our first attempt at crowdfunding!

Due to your generosity, Rosie's Rainbow Fund has earned a permanent place on Global Giving and very soon we will be launching another appeal to fund extra, much needed funds for our fantastic nurse / therapist Amanda.

But before that happens.we still have about £270. 00 to go to reach our origial projected target of £3,000!

Can you post the link to all your friends and ask them to give something over this weekend?

Here are some other recent comments about our work with very sick, sometimes life limited children.

Hi, I just wanted to send you an email to say a massive thank you to Amanda for a wonderful massage. It was like a ray of sunshine in a very dark time. What a wonderful thing to offer parents who are struggling to hold it together for their little one. Not only did I enjoy the massage and the break it gave me, Amanda talked to me about what was going on and shared her wisdom and experience of how to deal with our situation. I just wanted to say how grateful I am for the massage I had earlier today. Amanda was so kind & thoughtful.

My son was in the John Radcliffe having Craniofacial surgery. A few days after the surgery I was offered the chance to have a massage with your wonderful therapist. The short time away from the bustle of the children's ward was so precious. It gave me the opportunity to switch off just for a while and collect myself. It made such a difference to the way I was feeling. Thank you so much.

Rosie's Rainbow Fund provides services you never hear about until you need them. We hope that many parents reading this will never need our support, but if you ever do, Rosie's Rainbow is here when you need us. Our charity was born out of sorow for the loss of a special child and the feeling of having nobody who understood what a mother goes through at that time but we hope that our charity provides support, hope and comfort where previously none existed.

Nearly there!

Hello Everyone!

We are so pleased that we've nearly reached our target, well we have in monetary terms but we still need 4 more unique donors, we're having a massive push today on the Facebook, since that's where the majority of our donations are coming from.

In the meantime, although we're crowdfunding for the music therapy part of our charity we thought we'd tell you a little about the pastoral care side, specifically in relaton to the parents and carers of children who are seriously ill.

These parents virtually live at the hospital by their child's bedside, while all the time worrying about what's going on at home, how their partners and other children are coping... for these worried and anxious carers we have Amanda. Amanda is a qualified midwife but she is also an experienced aromatherapist and an extremely sympathetic ear to stressed and anxious parents. Here are just a couple of the letter we receive;

"This is a shout out for an unsung hero … Amanda the wonderful Aroma therapist who works tirelessly for this fabulous charity. Amanda provides parents like me with critically ill children extra special time out. Her wonderful relaxing massages are greatly appreciated by all of the parents at the John Radcliffe. Thank you so much Amanda and thank you to the founders of this charity"

"I hope you don't mind me emailing, but I wanted to say thank you for the help that Rosies Rainbow Fund has given to my family over the last month or so. My 7 year old Jessie, developed a large abscess on her brain for which she had four brain surgeries at the JR. The whole Team were fantastic, but especially those involved with Rosies Fund."
