During the first three months (November 27, 2018 – February 28, 2019), the fundraising campaign of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association (BLIA) for the project "Stimulating Early Childhood Reading in Bulgaria" collected $4,140 dollars from 26 donors.
We published campaign and project information with a call to support on the BLIA website and its English version. Weekly were published photos and messages to support the project in the BLIA profile on Facebook. Emails with information about the campaign and the project with a call for supportwere sent to more than 500 people in Bulgaria and abroad.
The December issue of the EBLIDA newsletter also published information about campaign and project with a call for support. EBLIDA (the European Library and Information and Documentation Association) is an independent association of 119 libraries, universities, libraries, information, documentation and archive associations and institutions from 36 countries in Europe.
We thank all our colleagues and friends from Bulgaria, Europe and the USA who have donated funds up to now! We also thank all our colleagues and friends who have shared the information about our campaign!
From the beginning of 2019, BLIA became permanent partner of GlobalGiving, and the project will remain on the platform until the necessary $ 5,000 is collected. We contacted the BLIA Facebook profile with colleagues from the country to invite personalities (MPs, entrepreneurs, businessmen, writers, intellectuals) who they know and for whom reading is of greatest importance for child development to support us.
In January 2019, began inquiry of the websites of Bulgarian publishing houses and the selection of children's books, games and videos for children from 1 to 6 years, which will be purchased with the funds collected.
