Dear Friends,

With your help we managed to return to the Langa community hall on the 27th and 28th of Oct 2024 to offer free sterilisations to the local commuity of pet owners. We hired a private vet to assist us onsite so as not to take resources away from our Animal Hospital in Grassy Park.

Last year alone our hospital treated 49,940 patients, which is 174 per day.

With 23,621 unwanted and unloved animals coming through our doors in the past year we know that the short term solution is mass sterilisations.

Even though we managed to do 6291 sterilisation in the past year we know we need to do far more, and the answer is investing in more education and access to sterilisations within the communities where we see pet population crisis and neglect firsthand.

The exciting news is this being our 2nd visit in Langa we again completed another 100 sterilisations with a door to door collection and delivery service for pet owners unable to travel to the community hall.

That brought our total sterilisation count to 200 sterilised animals in Langa over and above our usual work in the community. Our Education team then visited 2 local schools and the local Langa library to showcase our award winning puppet show featuring the 5 animal freedoms in a fun and engaging way.

Not only do we have the opportunity to mould young minds on the compassion and love for animals, but also offered the parents with pets free sterilisations with a collection service. This helped us add an additional 84 sterilisations over the Dec and Jan period.

Our team are still focusing on Langa and now including surrounding areas with the aim to do an additional 250 sterilisations by March 2025.

We can't do this without you, so thank you for joing us on this journey and for sharing in our love for animals. Don't hesitate to ask us questions and share suggestions. We can only do this together.

Thank you,
