FAME’s STEMulate® Change Outreach Initiative has been operating throughout the 2016-2017 school year. School year sessions began on September 14, 2016 and have continued in through the New Year and beyond! STEMulate® Change has served a wide variety of students from different schools and locations, including: Silverlake Elementary School, Richardson Park Elementary School, Heritage Elementary School, Baltz Elementary School, Forest Oak Elementary School, and Stanton Middle School.
Most recently, FAME’s STEMulate® Change Outreach Initiative began offering interactive, hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) learning activities to students at Mote Elementary School and Marbrook Elementary School. Participating students at these sites were able to work in small groups to complete various projects which helped them form problem-solving skills, enhanced teamwork, self-confidence, and increased knowledge in STEM subject areas. Both Mote and Marbrook will be wrapping up their STEMulate® Change sessions by taking part in a Culmination Ceremony which is scheduled to take place Wednesday, April, 26th and Thursday, April, 27th (respectively). During Culmination Ceremonies, students present what they have learned throughout the course of STEMulate® Change to their peers, parents, teachers, and community stakeholders – it is truly a time for celebration!
As FAME’s STEMulate® Change Outreach Initiative continues to operatethroughSpring andinto Summer, we look forward to serving even more students at new locations, such as Serviam Girls Academy in New Castle, Delaware and theCommunity Education Building in Wilmington, Delaware.
