STEMulate Change Students at Closing Ceremony!

Forum to Advance Minorities in Engineering, Inc. (FAME, Inc.) wrapped our 2019 STEMulate® Change Summer Session with a Culmination Ceremony that took place on Thursday, August 1st at John Dickinson High School. The Summer Session for STEMulate® Change was held from Monday, June 24th in through Thursday, August 1st. Daily sessions took place from 8am to 3pm, Monday through Thursday, at A.I. High School in Wilmington, Delaware. 2019 marked the third year FAME, Inc. was able to offer our six-week Summer Session for STEMulate® Change students. The theme for the summer of 2019 was “Million Dollar Summer” where students learned about entrepreneurship, business planning, idea generation, and more. Each morning students were engaged in curricula learning while afternoons were reserved for Project Based Learning (PBL) and group collaboration!

In addition to the Summer Session at A.I. High School, FAME, Inc. also operated sessions at W. T. Chipman Middle School in Kent County. Sessions took place over two consecutive weeks from Monday, June 17th to Thursday, June 20th and Monday, June 24th to Thursday, June 27th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Participating students learned about Bill Gates and Yoky Matsuoka through PBL curricula and activities.

In total, 133 students were served via STEMulate® Change summer programing in 2019. After successfully wrapping Summer Sessions, STEMulate® Change is falling into our school-year program schedule. We are set to partner with both the Red Clay Consolidated and  Brandywine School Districts this fall!
