Forum to Advance Minorities in Engineering, Inc.’s (FAME, Inc.) STEMulate® Change Outreach Initiative is in full summer swing!
Summer sessions began at W. T. Chipman Middle School in Kent County on Monday, June, 17th for 60 students. Sessions will take place for two consecutive weeks from Monday, June, 17th to Thursday, June, 20th and Monday, June, 24th to Thursday, June, 27th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Participating students are learning about Bill Gates and Yoky Matsuoka through Project Based Learning (PBL) activities.
Along with students at W. T. Chipman Middle School, an additional 82 STEMulate® Change students will be served during FAME, Inc.’s six-week summer session at A. I. High School in New Castle County. Sessions are set to begin on Monday, June, 24th and run until Thursday, August, 1st. Each Monday to Thursday, sessions will take place from 8:00am to 3:00pm. The theme for the summer of 2019 is “Million Dollar Summer” where students will learn about entrepreneurship, business planning, idea generation, and more! Each morning students will be engaged in curricula learning while afternoons will be reserved for PBL and group collaboration. In addition to daily STEM lessons and learning, students at A. I. High School are also provided with daily meals and bus transportation.
