Dear Supporters,
We hope this update finds you well. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who has contributed to our project so far and also those who continue to support this project.
On November 2021, our boys’ team has officially joined the Littoral Regional Basketball League and played 3 games so far. They are 1-2, one win and two loses. The goal to join this league is to help them learn how to handle peer pressure, develop self-awareness and ways to appropriately behave when under pressure, whether winning or faced with defeat. In addition, it’s to teach each player’s full potential, both physically and mentally, through emphasis on the concepts of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Unlike the girls' team, they started an intensive computer training on January 20, 2022. The computer training happens twice a week;Tuesday for an hour before practice and on Sunday afternoon. The goal of this intensive computer training is to help them prepare to apply and participate for the TechGirls Exchange Program, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs design to empower and inspire young women from around the world to pursue careers in science and technology.
African Cup of Nations
The recent Africa Cup of Nations, a soccer tournament among African countries was hosted in Cameroon from January 9 through February 6, 2022. It was a time of celebration and solidarity for many people across the continent.
The Manengouba Foundation in partnership with the city of Nkongsamba has organized a gastronomic and cultural fair and above all a sportive fair. The objective being to satisfy the local populations by the festive fallout of the African Cup of Nations organized in Cameroon. Our youth had an opportunity to watch the games on a big LED screen and came together in celebration. Everyone now has only the memories of watching one of their favorite sport and how it brought the community together.
Thank you again for helping Manengouba Foundation build a stronger community within Nkongsamba, Cameroon. Please stay connected with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @manengouba.
