Project Report | Feb 23, 2026
Tuition Classes for Underprivileged Children

By Alf Namodi | Project Leader

I hope you have started the year well.

First Love Foundation would like to sincerely thank you for your support over the past year. We remain committed to the cause of children and the youth living in less privileged communities and their access to STEM education. Certainly, with all the financial challenges in the nonprofit space, our work is much easier with your valuable support.

As we took stock of our objectives and the actual impact we made in the past year, it remains that there is a huge financial gap that needs to be filled and we have embarked on various fundraising initiatives. As reported, we have extended our involvement to a township in the Florida area in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. The homes in this township are all tin structures locally referred to as shacks. The children are very disadvantaged in is environment, and our goal is to be able to provide them extra tuition starting with the English language. Though English is their language of instruction most are still not able to communicate in English even in high school. This of course affects their understanding in class and consequently, their overall school performance.

This additional program will require much more resources which we believe can be raised from multiple sources including a sponsored half-marathon event in September 2026. This will help expand our impact as we cater to the needs of the less privileged communities and their access to education.

As usual we look forward to your continued support for which we are ever so grateful.

Thank you and warm regards
