Our Young Innovators Keep Growing

Thanks to the continued support of our community and partners, our Robotics and Technology program is reaching exciting new milestones. Over the past several months, we have expanded learning opportunities for our students, strengthened strategic partnerships, and celebrated our students as they participated in robotics competitions and career exploration experiences for the very first time.

One of the biggest highlights has been the strengthening of our partnership with BMW. Their generous contribution is allowing us to build a new MakerSpace at Club de Niños y Niñas CDMX y Estado de México. This new learning environment is being designed to inspire creativity, and hands-on problem solving.

The MakerSpace will include two dedicated learning areas: a classroom for theoretical instruction and learning, and a practical workshop where students can design, build, test, and improve their robotics projects for future FIRST Tech Challenge competitions.

Our younger students also reached an important milestone by participating in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge for the first time. During the Mexico City regional competition, our teams Kaab'il and Techalzin competed against 38 other teams from across the region.

For many of our young students, this was their first experience presenting engineering solutions, and competing in a national robotics event. We are especially proud that Team Kaab'il finished 8th place, an outstanding achievement for a first-time team and a reflection of the dedication our students have shown throughout the season.

Beyond robotics competitions, we continue working to expose our youth to future career opportunities. In May, BMW invited our students to visit both its Distribution Center in Lerma and its Training Center. During the visit, students toured different areas and met professionals from departments including Sales and Marketing, helping them better understand the wide variety of careers available within the automotive industry.

The experience continued with interactive workshops focused on essential workplace competencies such as teamwork, communication, and leadership.
