Stationary kit for visually challenged school children

By Nasreen | Project Head

The "Stationery Kit for VI Buds" project was launched to support the educational journey of visually challenged students by providing them with specially designed stationery kits. These kits included essential items such as Braille slates and styluses, Braille notebooks, tactile geometry kits, thick pencils, and writing frames. We identified and distributed the kits to 50 visually impaired students, most of whom come from rural, economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The distribution took place during the school reopening week, where each child was given a brief orientation on how to use the items effectively. The kits were thoughtfully curated to ensure durability, accessibility, and usability, enabling the students to actively participate in their academic activities.

The impact of the project has been truly heartening. Students showed increased engagement in classroom activities and demonstrated more confidence in handling academic tools independently. Parents and teachers have shared positive feedback, highlighting how these kits have empowered the children to study without constant assistance.  We are now planning to scale the project to reach more students in the coming months, integrating digital learning tools wherever possible. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors through GlobalGiving for making this initiative a success. Your support continues to bring light, dignity, and independence into the lives of these young learners.
