**St Mungo's merged with another long established charity, Broadway. About St Mungo's Broadway
Together, We help people recover from the issues that create homelessness and to rebuild their lives.
St Mungo's Broadway provides a bed and support to more than 2,500 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and works to prevent homelessness, helping about 25,000 people a year. **
This Programme is going from strength to strength, successfully supporting homeless people in their recovery by providing a positive environment in which to learn new and useful skills and work towards employment and independent living; as well as generating income for the Programme, through a social enterprise arm.
Thanks to your support we can offer our homeless clients the chance to:
ReVive volunteers earn credits for their work. These credits can be used for further education, training or to purchase their own tools and equipment to start work on their own.
Steve works closely with the St Mungo’s Broadway Employment Team to help his trainees and ReVive volunteers move into college and/or work. During the last year one trainee went on to complete an advanced marbling course at an external specialist company as he was particularly talented at this technique. While furthering this expertise he was inspired to apply to college and will be working to earn an NVC in Painting and Decorating. With the qualification he received at our training programme he can skip the First Level and join at Level 2.
Steve: "Our main aim is to give our clients more than enough training to enable them to move into paid work, employment or on to further training. The course has had a very positive effect on the lives of all our trainees. We work hard to keep them motivated and engaged and recommend them for other training programmes which helps to keep them inspired. We found that trainees who have moved into their own flats have gone on to use their new skills to decorate their homes."
