This year has reminded us that even in the most uncertain times, hope can still take root. Sometimes, it arrives fourfold.
In August, our team at St. Damien Pediatric Hospital had the extraordinary honor of delivering quadruplets, four healthy baby boys born safely into the compassionate hands of our staff. Their arrival was a moment of pure joy, a symbol of life and perseverance that reflects everything your support makes possible.
Across every department, your generosity continues to save lives and strengthen families. In 2024, our hospital provided more than 47,000 medical services to women and children in need. We recorded 6,600 admissions, nearly 4,000 emergency room visits, and 1,187 consultations through our HIV program. Our high-risk maternity unit remained one of the few in Haiti capable of managing complex cases, welcoming 2,211 mothers and safely delivering 1,260 babies, including those precious quadruplets.
These milestones were achieved amid severe challenges, including political unrest, economic instability, and ongoing insecurity. Yet, our staff never stopped showing up. They continue to provide care with dignity, skill, and love. As Fr. Rick Frechette reminds us, “We hold on when there seems nothing to hold on to, because we hold on to each other, and the people of Haiti, and we hold onto God.”
Every heartbeat, every safe delivery, every child who walks out of St. Damien healthy, it all begins with your compassion. Thank you for believing in this mission and standing with the children and families of Haiti.
Together, we are building a future filled with hope, healing, and life.
