Building on professional training and cooperation in Sri Lanka
Project: Sri Lanka - Save 1 million lives (#59326)
By: DTI Foundation
Dear friends and supporters,
Thank you for supporting our initiative in Sri Lanka. Professional education and knowledge exchange are central to its objective of strengthening local capacity in organ donation and transplantation.
Our March 2026 report recorded that a healthcare professional from Sri Lanka had participated in the Advanced TPM course and completed a two-week clinical internship at a Spanish transplant centre. Our June report also described a collaboration mission involving hospital visits, meetings with local healthcare teams, and educational exchanges. Topics included deceased donation, end-of-life care, communication with families, and tissue banking.
These previously reported activities provide a foundation for cooperation. For the period since our June update, we do not have verified additional activities or outcome figures to share. We therefore do not attribute new training completions or increases in donation and transplantation to this reporting period. The project’s intended long-term contribution is to help professionals apply and share their knowledge within their teams.
We are grateful for your trust in DTI Foundation and for supporting education and international cooperation. Thank you for being part of the ambition to improve transplantation opportunities for patients in Sri Lanka.
With gratitude,
DTI Foundation
