Giving Tuesday; Promoting Education in Pakistan

The purpose of the project is to help the unreached communites in Pakistan by helping out small youth volunteer initiatives. Giving Tuesday pakistan under the supervision of AWARD Pakistan has linked up with 50 volunteer initiatives and non profits that are working to promote generosity among their social circles. The campaign has managed to spread itself in the 15 major cities of Pakistan. 

2021 has been dedicated to improve the literacy in Pakistan as Pakistan is far behind and stands at 161 out of 196 countries when it comes to provision of education. Giving Tuesday through its volunteers in all over Pakistan will promote literacy through number of activities such as community mobilization, stationary drives, motivation sessions, advocacy etc.

As the third wave of COVID-19 is on the rise in the country with nearly 12 % of the positivity rate, the educational institutes all over the country are closed and many of the people have gone jobless. It is a fear that once the schools will be opened, majority of poor parents would not be able to send their kids back to schools because of the unavailability of fee, stationary , book and other expenses. AWARD requests its supporters to help the kids continue their education who have been affected by COVID-19 lockdown.

As in Giving Tuesday, we are encouraging more people to join the giving. For that the campaign require funds to promote education. Therefore we request all our supporters to help us in this regard.

Whether its a beach clean up drive, park clean up drive, blood donation, COVID-19 food relief support, stationary drive, helping the orphanage, hospital visits, supporting the local businesses, heling a needy family, etc. The Giving Tuesday campaign has it all . Now to make the movement sustainable and keep going, we would like to request all the supoporters to help us in this regard.

The activities done during the last quarter are

1) 3 clean up drives in Islamabad in the public parks by Waste Hero initiative .

2) Distribution of blankets to the poor famililes to save themselves from cold by Make A Difference 

3) Blood Donation Camp by Heroes for life Karachi
