The youth are the future of Lebanon. Restoring youth who are plagued by economic pressure, societal collapse and shattered hopes is Triumphant Mercy's mandate. We do this by providing them with a safe space where we build character, create community, and lead sports activities. There kids can be free to laugh, to connect, build friendships and be surrounded by a supportive team.
Lebanon has been named by Gallup surveys as the angriest country. Youth are the one effected most with shattered dreams and lose of hope and high rates of depression. They've run to destructive coping mechanisms; dropping out of school, drugs and broken relationships. They join online communities to connect with others while remaining isolated in real life. Parents are unable to help their children while they struggle themselves with accumulated trauma and are reaching out to us for help.
Three years ago Triumphant Mercy began the sports program and had no idea how much children and youth needed a safe place to have this real life community, get active, connect to each other to ask real life questions. Each week the kids will join for character building, awareness sessions about drugs, relationship, boundaries etc. Then join their team on the field to put in to practice what they have learned but also to enjoy the camaraderie of fun and play becoming healthier in every way.
Pouring into this next generation will ensure a change in the future of Lebanon. We thrive seeing change in families and communities. We drive to see the youth rising to their potential with renewed dreams and a vision for the future. We believe that this program will relieve stress and restore hope. As the world becomes more "connected" but also more disconnected such programs like sports will be catalysts for change.
