Over the past months, our project “Sport and Education for Children Affected by Floods” has become truly transformative. Thanks to the resources received through GlobalGiving — together with the support of other sponsors — we have already completed four groups of activities, reaching four different schools and communities across our region: Sinimbu, Vera Cruz, and Santa Cruz do Sul.
Each of these places has its own reality, challenges, and dreams, and yet the impact of this initiative has been profound everywhere. One of the groups, in particular, continues its journey throughout the entire year, until December — something unprecedented for our organization. This continuity has been especially meaningful from a social-emotional and psychological perspective, allowing the children to grow in a safe, consistent, and inspiring environment.
In recent weeks, our team has used real-life experiences that emerged naturally during classes to talk about essential topics such as respect, active listening, and taking responsibility. As we often say, sports are an undeniable tool for life — they teach values, discipline, teamwork, and resilience that extend far beyond the court.
Every step of this project reminds us that rebuilding a community after a disaster goes beyond restoring buildings — it’s about restoring hope, confidence, and the belief in a better future.
Thank you for being part of this transformation.
