ACTIVITY REPORT AT C.P.S. AMOGWEE AMEKA, OROKO UGBALA PRIMARY SCHOOL AMAJIM AMEKA AND C.P.S. NWELIBU IHOTO AMEKA , EBONYI STATE, NIGERIA
Objective: The primary objective was to conduct a meaningful outreach initiative in Ezza South, Ebonyi State, Nigeria. The focus was on distributing essential educational items – school uniforms, footwear, school bags, and exercise books – to identified pupils from various schools in the region.
This initiative aimed to enhance access to education and alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with schooling for the selected students. Participants: A total of 51 pupils were direct beneficiaries of this outreach effort. Among them, 22 pupils attended C.P.S Amogwee Ameka, 23 pupils from C.P.S Nwelibu Ihotor Ameka, and 6 pupils from Oroko Ugbala Primary School Amajim Ameka.
The distribution was carefully disaggregated to ensure a fair and targeted approach, considering the diverse needs of each school. Activity Highlights: Mountain Movers orchestrated a comprehensive school outreach, commencing with a warm welcome at C.P.S Amogwee Ameka. The team efficiently distributed materials, including school uniforms, footwear, school bags, and exercise books. Consent forms were diligently signed, and the entire event was documented to capture the genuine moments of joy and gratitude among the pupils. However, the unexpected absence of two earmarked pupils from Oroko Ugbala, reducing the total beneficiaries to six, added an element of unpredictability to the initiative.
Results: The earmarked pupils received not just materials but a tangible expression of care, promoting a sense of value and encouragement within the educational context. Beyond the tangible items, the pupils were reminded of the paramount importance of education, instilling a renewed commitment to their academic journey.
Challenges and Lessons Learned: Encountering challenges along the way, the team navigated difficult terrains due to bad roads, highlighting the need for strategic planning in future initiatives. Sizing issues with uniforms underscored the lesson learned: to tailor uniforms according to specific sizes and confirm footwear measurements in advance. These insights will guide future endeavors, ensuring a more seamless and impactful execution.
Follow-up/Next Steps: The commitment doesn't end with the distribution. The team plans to follow up diligently, ensuring continued school attendance among the beneficiaries and providing support for the proper maintenance of the distributed uniforms. This comprehensive approach seeks to nurture a sustained positive impact on the educational journey of the pupils involved.
