We are happy to be able to provide you with some great updates from the Malaika projects in Kalebuka, DRC. We have been very busy recently as we just inaugurated the Malaika School library! The e-library is the first of its kind in Kalebuka, with books in English and French, in both print and e-book format on donated Android tablets. This state of the art facility provides access to technology and resources that are opening up a whole new world to our students.
We are also proud to say that as of March, the Malaika School is 100% powered by solar energy! This brings the sustainability of the School to a whole new level, as we will no longer have to depend on unreliable electricity or an expensive generator. This stable source of energy has allowed us to set up a computer room, giving our girls an opportunity to connect with the modern world, which demands a knowledge of technology.
We continuously strive to provide the best possible education to our students, and that means going above and beyond simply teaching the girls how to read and write. We are creating the next generation of leaders, who will go out into their communities and be agents of change.
With your support, we are creating a better future for Kalebuka, and the DRC. Thank you for joining us in our mission.
