After a very busy summer, the 2015-16 school year has begun! We are proud to have increased enrollment and are now providing a quality education to 231 girls. We were so excited to welcome 29 more girls into our family, as they are our new Kindergarten class. We even have our first set of twins!
Eliane is one of our new students and she told us that she can’t wait to go on field trips and explore. Eliane has big dreams and she wants to become the Minister of Education one day. We look forward to watching Eliane and her new schoolmates grow and learn, just as we have with our 202 returning students. They were all so happy to be back with their friends and learning their favorite subjects. You can see all these bright girls in the accompanying photos.
This year we are excited to focus on our holistic curriculum. We want our girls to thrive in their core classes, which include languages, math, science and reading; as well as the creative components like theatre, art and music. Through these lessons we are able to offer our girls creative outlets to express themselves and learn about what they love. We want to instill passion and commitment in them as they grow. We will also continue to give the girls two healthy meals per day, as well as monthly medical check-ups. The girls participate in gym class during the week, where they play tennis and work on teambuilding activities. They are constantly surrounded by a staff that ensures their safety and wellbeing.
We can’t emphasize enough how grateful we are to have your support this year and to know that you want a better future for those in Kalebuka.
