Quality pediatric orthotic care is severely limited in Jamaica, leaving children born with conditions like Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, and Clubfoot struggling to access affordable treatment. In November 2026, our upcoming clinic will provide custom, on-site orthotic care to 40-50 children in urgent need of bracing. For these children, a custom brace is the crucial turning point between immobility and the gift of walking, playing, and independence.
Families in developing counties like Jamaica struggle to find and afford quality care to help children with disabilities reach their fullest potential. Those who are lucky enough to receive life changing surgeries to correct deformities face potential relapse without the availability of bracing and trained specialists to provide the proper post-operative bracing and ongoing care as the children grow.
Pediatric Orthotic Global Outreach partners with local community organizations to provide consistent, high quality, free orthotic care to children in Jamaica. Teams visit several times a year to monitor progress and provide follow-up adjustments and support for growing children. Each patient receives an evaluation, custom-fitted bracing, AFO socks & depth shoes. Our goal is to ensure every family leaves with the equipment and knowledge needed to improve their child's mobility and freedom.
Your support helps continue our mission to bring not only quality care and supplies to these kids but also long term change to the families and communities we serve. Each family is trained on the proper stretching and ongoing care required for the child's improvement, as well as direction on when to return for follow-up. Our mission is a collaborative community effort providing regular, high-quality care to kids across the island resulting in real progress towards mobility and independence.
