Dear Supporters,
We are delighted to share an update on our project aimed at providing nutritious, plant-based lunches to 1,500 school children across 10 schools in the Kigezi region of Uganda. While we have not yet reached our full funding target, progress is being made thanks to the generous support of donors and well-wishers in the community.
Currently, we are able to provide free, nutritious lunches to 20 students per term. This modest beginning has allowed us to demonstrate the impact of healthy, plant-based meals on children’s growth, well-being, and academic performance. Even at this early stage, we have observed increased engagement and energy among the students receiving meals, highlighting the importance of addressing malnutrition in the community.
Alongside providing meals, we have begun training school cooks in the preparation of healthy, balanced meals and supporting schools in establishing sustainable crop gardens. These initiatives are designed to ensure a consistent and long-term food supply, helping schools maintain nutritious meals even as the program expands.
Your continued support is crucial for scaling this project to reach all 1,500 children. With your partnership, we aim to enhance not only the health of the children but also the resilience and food security of the wider community. Every contribution brings us closer to a future where all children in Kigezi can thrive, learn, and grow strong.
Thank you for your generosity and commitment to improving the lives of children in Uganda.
With gratitude,
Nabaasa Innocent
