Sponsor food groceries to old age people in India

Dear Donors and Supporters.

Thank you for supporting destitute old age person’s food provisions. In our target are Pasupala village, Kurnool Mandal, Kurnool District the elderly women who are poor and live alone or with dependent children find them vulnerable, powerless and are neglected by their family or grown up children. Many are too old or physically weak and thus unable to find work. They are forced to beg, and are often homeless.

Moved by the plight of destitute single women, Seruds has taken up program of sponsoring elderly women on an urgent basis. Our volunteers and staff members conducted surveys and identified 120 destitute women who are above 60 year of age. These elderly women are widows or have been abandoned by their husbands. Some have children, but the children live apart and do not take care of their mothers. They do not have money for food, medical care and other basic necessities. In this critical juncture, SERUDS identified them and providing monthly groceries to 20 such old women by providing food rations and other necessities every month at their door step. This support has been provided for the month of May 2014

Benefits Provided:

For each beneficiary, we have provided ration kit consisting of 6Kgs of Sona Masoori Dry Rice, 1.5Kg Ahar Dal, 1Kg Sun Flower Oil, 1/2Kg Tamarind, 1/2Kg Coconut, 1/4Kg Coriander Powder, 1/4Kg Dry Chilli Powder, 1/4Kg Salt, 2 ETA Detergent Soaps, 2 Santoor Soaps, biscuits. Totally 20 destitute elderly women received these benefits for their survival.

Impact of Donations:

With this support the destitute elderly persons are happily cooking and having food 3 times in a day. They are happily living and their physical & health conditions have been considerably increased. We are able to see happiness on their faces.
