We sincerely thank you for your continued monthly donation of groceries for destitute elderly individuals through GlobalGiving.

More than eleven years ago, SERUDS initiated the Monthly Groceries Support Program to address the silent suffering of abandoned and economically distressed elderly women in Pasupala Village, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh. Many of these seniors, aged 60 to 90 years, live alone, without family support or financial means to meet even the most basic needs. With no strength left to work and no one to depend on, they struggle daily for food and survival.

Through this initiative, SERUDS provides monthly food provisions that include Sona Masoori rice, lentils, tamarind, spices, groundnuts, upma rava, wheat flour, cooking oil, bathing and detergent soaps, hair oil, seasonal vegetables, fruits, and biscuits. These essential supplies not only ensure that the elderly do not go hungry but also bring stability, dignity, and emotional comfort to their lives.

Every month, our staff, volunteers, and community leaders visit Pasupala Village to assess the needs of the elderly, identify new cases, and distribute groceries to the 20 vulnerable older women currently supported by the program. This careful fieldwork ensures that assistance reaches those who need it most. Over time, we have seen noticeable improvements in their health, confidence, and overall well-being.

Despite receiving numerous requests from elderly individuals in surrounding areas, limited resources prevent us from supporting everyone. Therefore, every contribution from donors like you becomes invaluable. Your support allows us to sustain this vital program and provide timely relief to the most neglected and helpless senior citizens.
