Girls In School Dress - Seems Happ & Well Dressed
Girls In School Dress - Seems Happ & Well Dressed

In Pakistan, more than 22 million children are out of school, and the majority of them are girls particularly from rural areas.

In the rural areas of Sindh province, educational institutions are rotting. According to a report, 50 percent children are out-of-school. There are many villages where there are absolutely no schools and girls cannot travel nor join school after certain distance due to cultural practices, religious point of view and security issues special after the age of 12 years. There is dire need of the time to ensure nearest schools for the girls as well as educate the people of the rural areas about the importance of education for both the girls and the boys.

Village Abdul Karim Khaskheli situated in Union Council Tajoo Khaskheli, Taluka Shujaabad and district Mirpurkhas, the village consists of small settlements having around 15-17 households in total there are at least 5 settlements as people are living in own lands with semi paka households. The village is missing basis necessities even a school, but with the generous support of philanthropists like you via GlobalGiving a school established in which 23 girls and 49 boys are enrolled and getting education with the help of two school teachers also. The generous support enabled to appoint two teachers, procure black board, benches, tables and chairs as well as provide basic books, slates and copies to all students.

The enrolled boys and girls are a combination of Muslims and Non-Muslims living in the village or coming from nearby villages. In picture, you can see the girls as they are happy and well-dressed due to being in school.

This whole made possible through generous support of Philanthropists via GlobalGiving and ARTS Foundation. Trust that such support will remain continue as school needs frequent funds to pay teachers’ salaries and petty expenses of school as school is getting more and more children.

Once again thank you for making easy access of girls to education in a remote village like Abdul Kareem Khaskheli.
