According to the Pakistan Economic Survey, 2017-2018, the literacy rate for entire Pakistan, includes ten years old and above is 58 percent. And more than 22 million children in Pakistan are out of school, and the majority of them are girls.
The situation is even worse in the rural areas of the country where around 66 percent of the population lives and around half of it consisted of girls; they are the main sufferers in this situation.
In the rural areas of Sindh province, educational institutions are rotting. According to a report, 50 percent children are out-of-school. There are many villages where there are absolutely no schools. Need of the hour is to first educate the people in the rural areas about the importance of education for both the girls and the boys.
With thanks to GlobalGiving, a remote and rural Village Abdul Karim Khaskheli situated in Union Council Tajoo Khaskheli and district Mirpurkhas has been able to establish and run a school for 21 boys and girls to get education. The generous support enabled to appoint one teacher, procure black board, benches, table and chair as well as provide basic books, slates and copies to all students.
The enrolled boys and girls are a combination of Muslims and Non-Muslims living in the village or coming from nearby villages.
The village children along the village activists Mr Muhammad Bux Kapri and Mr Wajid Laghari (as seen in pictures) expressed that we are very happy that our future generation life will be enlightened through light of education; no doubt we are so happy that our children are in school now. This whole made possible through generous support of Philanthropists, GlobalGiving and ARTS Foundation. And trust that such support will remain continue as school needs frequent funds to pay teacher and petty expenses of school. Keep giving please.
