Eid-ul-Adha is a time of faith, gratitude, sacrifice, and generosity. This year, the children of Roshni Homes Trust celebrated the occasion in a truly meaningful way, embracing both the spiritual significance of the festival and the joy of sharing with others.
A week before Eid, two bulls and two goats arrived at the campus. The children quickly formed bonds with the animals, spending time feeding them, caring for them, and learning about the significance of sacrifice in Islam. These interactions helped transform the experience into a valuable lesson about responsibility, compassion, and the deeper meaning behind Eid-ul-Adha.
The celebrations began with Eid prayers at Palms Enclave, where the children gathered together to mark the occasion with gratitude and reflection. Dressed in their best clothes, they joined staff members and community members in offering prayers and celebrating the blessings they have received.
On Eid day, the animals were sacrificed in accordance with Islamic traditions. Some of the children witnessed the process and gained a greater understanding of the values of obedience, gratitude, and sharing that lie at the heart of the festival.
One of the most rewarding parts of the day came afterward. The children actively participated in preparing and organizing meat portions for distribution. Together, they helped pack and distribute meat to more than 200 deserving households in the surrounding community, ensuring that many poor families were also able to celebrate Eid with dignity and joy.
Beyond the charitable activities, the day was filled with happiness and togetherness. The children enjoyed special meals, played games, laughed with friends, and spent time celebrating as one large family. Music, recreation, and shared meals created memories that will remain with them for years to come.
For the children at Roshni Homes Trust, Eid-ul-Adha is more than a celebration—it is an opportunity to learn the values of generosity, empathy, and service to others. By actively participating in both the sacrifice and the distribution process, they experienced firsthand the importance of giving back to those in need.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters who helped make this special occasion possible. Your kindness allows our children not only to celebrate important traditions but also to experience the joy of sharing those blessings with their wider community.
Together, we continue to create a loving home where children learn the values that will guide them throughout their lives.
