Pay Assessment Fees for Special Needs Children

During the past year, Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc., with the support of donors through our GlobalGiving.Org project, has been able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of special needs children and their families. These funds were used primarily to cover the cost of professional assessments for children who either have special needs or are suspected of needing specialized support. Such assessments are vital in confirming diagnoses, guiding care, and informing critical decisions regarding educational placement and support.

One of the most important outcomes of this initiative was providing assessments for approximately 12 children preparing to sit the CPEA examinations. These assessments were necessary to ensure that the children could access special accommodations at their examination centers, giving them a fair opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Beyond exam preparation, our support extended to providing disposables and other essential supplies that help families manage the daily care needs of their children. These interventions have brought hope, dignity, and much-needed relief to households struggling to cope with the added responsibilities of raising children with special needs.

Despite these efforts, the challenges remain immense. Many mothers are unable to work because their children require constant attention, and families who can access public schooling often cannot afford the full-time carers that their children require. Without consistent support, these children are at risk of being left behind both academically and socially. Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc. continues to advocate and raise funds to bridge this gap, but we cannot do it alone. We encourage donors and partners to continue supporting this vital initiative so that we can expand our reach, ease the burden on families, and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for children with special needs in Saint Lucia.
