Project Update - March 2025

By Charlotte Morrish | Project Leader/Volunteer

Thank you for supporting our Spay & Neuter project! Your generous donations are helping to prevent unwanted litters and the cycle of suffering. Although we have not yet raised sufficient funds to launch the project on the scale we had hoped, we have nonetheless been able to use the vital funds raised to pursue our goal of spaying and neutering as many animals as possible.

Thanks to the generous donations received, we have been able to conduct surgeries on some community animals who would otherwise not have been fixed. This includes 2 dogs and 5 cats, thereby potentially preventing 75 unwanted kittens and 32 unwanted puppies in one year alone! The funding also covers a further two dogs who we are currently in the process of trying to trap in order to conduct the surgery.

The scale of the issue means that we still need to reach as many animals in the community as possible. Going forward, we hope to continue to raise more funds which can be allocated to conduct surgeries on other community animals and to administer preventative medication for heartworm and fleas. This engagement with owners and the community offers us an important platform to share advice about responsible pet ownership and to advocate for improved animal welfare standards.

Thank you for your continued support!
