A Sweet Twist to This Report

Whose cats are these?!? Feral cats live among people everywhere. Sometimes we humans recognize them immediately as feral or stray and sometimes they fool us. That happened to Michelle, and we are grateful she is now looking after the cats. When she found FCCO she shared their story:

We noticed a big grey cat in the back yard often and assumed he belonged to the neighbor. Eventually another was hanging around - and then kittens! We started noticing the kittens poking around the fence line. Come to find out that the neighbor thought they were ours. That's when we discovered they are living in an old shed on our property.

The younger cats are friendlier and will come to the food bowl. The mom and dad won't have anything to do with us as of yet. I'm hoping you can help us - I'm afraid of an outbreak!

The cats were affectionately named for Little Debbie snacks: Cosmic Brownie (Cosmo), Unicorn cakes (Uni), Honeybuns, Fancy cakes (Fancy), Blueberry Mini Muffin (Blueberry), and Zebra Cakes (Zeb). Michelle borrowed traps and brought all but one cat to FCCO this spring. Swissroll, the hold-out, only comes around occasionally and seems to be a good candidate for a drop trap, but others are getting more comfortable with their new people and even are open to some pets from them.

No kitten outbreaks for this colony!

FCCO is supported by donations. Your contributions make it possible for caregivers - including those who hadn't realized they even had feral cats! - get the care they need so the cats can be healthy and no longer constantly reproducing. Thank you!
