Quarterly Progress Report

Yes — for GlobalGiving, I’d make it more human and impact-oriented, while still keeping it as a summary rather than a list of activities.

Quarterly Summary

This quarter, Karachi United continued to use football as a platform for creating opportunities, building confidence, and supporting the development of young people from marginalised communities. Through its ongoing programmes, KU provided participants with access to regular sports coaching alongside education, life-skills learning, health awareness, and opportunities for community engagement.

A key focus during the quarter was United for Women’s Health and Wellbeing, implemented in partnership with the Al Basma Foundation, a UK-based organisation. The initiative brought together football and health education to support 100 adolescent girls, while engaging 40 women in dialogue sessions around girls’ health, wellbeing, and development. The programme created safe spaces where girls could participate in sport while openly discussing topics that are often difficult to address, including menstrual health, sexual and reproductive health, body autonomy, and access to safe and dignified facilities.

At the same time, KU continued its regular football coaching programme, reaching 200 girls from marginalised communities. Beyond developing football skills, these sessions provide girls with a consistent space to be active, connect with their peers, and develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, and leadership. KU also continued its life-skills education and other activities, reinforcing the idea that participation in sport can contribute to wider personal and social development.

Key highlights from the quarter included:

  • 200 girls reached through KU’s regular football coaching programme.

  • 100 adolescent girls engaged through United for Women’s Health and Wellbeing.

  • 40 women engaged in community dialogue sessions.

  • Continued delivery of life-skills education and personal development activities.

  • Health advocacy sessions addressing menstrual hygiene, sexual and reproductive health, body autonomy, and wellbeing.

  • Continued efforts to create safe, inclusive spaces where girls can participate, learn, and build confidence.

Together, these efforts reflect Karachi United’s continued commitment to using football not only as a sport, but as a tool for education, empowerment, wellbeing, and positive community change.
