Summer of Activity, Entertainment & Community

We’re having a special summer filled with community, activity, and entertainment.

SPARC’s Got Talent is coming up on June 14th at the Old Firehouse Teen Center in McLean, Virginia. There will be singing, dancing, and comedy performances by many club participants. Talent shows are fun for many reasons, especially the opportunity to see another side of people in our community. But they’re also an important part of living one’s best life. Among SPARC’s solutions are music and art therapeutic recreation activities. The show not only goes on but gives our participants a new way to thrive and connect.

We’re following the talent show with a potluck meal so that our culinary stars also have the opportunity to shine.

We also are having a healthy summer thanks to Move Your Body month. Our adapted Zumba classes are a popular way to move. For complete body and mind work, we also have adapted yoga classes.

Everyone can participate in those even when physical mobility is limited. Meditative activities are 100% inclusive and help everyone battle or stave off anxiety or depression.

Summer fun and recreation can be a part of everyone's life. That's why we ensure our activities and educational opportunities are completely inclusive. If someone wants to try or learn something, we'll figure out a way to make that happen.

Please support our efforts and donate to our scholarship fund. We know that our prices are more than fair and certainly below market rates, but we also know that sometimes unforseen expenses can cause a financial hardship. Your gift ensures that those expenses don't interrupt someone's participation in a lifelong learning community.
