SPARC continues growing to help adults with disabilities thanks to people like you. We started in shared space in Reston, Virginia 11 years ago and now help dozens of people in five Virginia communities.
SPARC Works is a relatively new program we created to help adults with disabilities discover the type of career they would like to have and then provides extensive training to help them reach their goals. Participants love the program, and the folks at Christ Church in Fairfax Station, Virginia, have partnered with us on classroom and meeting space.
Unfortunately, many participants can't drive and our local MetroAccess program doesn't provide mass transit options for them to travel there. Most are facing their first significant challenge as an adult with disabilities training for work--how to find a role with appropriate accommodations and that you can reach by whatever means you travel.
As you consider donating to help us provide fee-free services for participants, please also think about people in wheelchairs or with other issues who need to travel to a more remote location. This might even involve a taxi home on special days or during inclement weather.
So many people want to work and take part in this aspect of life in their community. SPARC Works gives them the training and supports they need to succeed. People like you give them ongoing access to SPARC Works, and we are grateful for your support.
