The psychological support project for 200 survivors of the Bukavu massacre aims to establish a structured psychological support and social reintegration program for civilians, particularly women and children who suffered profound trauma in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo, in February 2025, without access to appropriate care. Despite the efforts of local and international organizations, psychological support remains insufficient, leaving many victims without assistance. We have already gone four months without assistance from donors or benefactors. Cases of violence are worsening as the two provinces of North and South Kivu are going through a very difficult period of armed conflict. Women and school-aged children are most affected by this humanitarian situation.
GRAD, along with some local protection actors, is trying to raise awareness among local communities about peaceful coexistence.
Awareness-raising sessions are planned but have not yet been implemented due to lack of funding. We are appealing to benefactors to come to the aid of these populations in danger.
The project is within your reach and available to receive any kind of assistance to save human lives.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Adrien M'MASSA
