The sun has become a powerful source of energy. It has gained momentum in the past years in terms of sustainability through solar energy. The growing impact to the planet has raised awareness to the human community, thus, most sectors have switched to solar power reducing the negative effect to the environment which other energy sources could.
Solar energy is a natural source that is constantly replenished by utilizing the light and heat from the sun for power purposes which makes it a renewable source. It converts the infinite availability of the sun's energy into power. Foundation University, an eco-friendly institution has gradually utilized solar energy over the years by putting up photovoltaic (PV) solar panels in the rooftops of its buildings. The PV panels are spread across the roof of the building. it contains PV cells that absorb energy electrons in the cells and create current that in transferred into wires for distribution into its [ower network.
Today, the university is utilizing 65% of this renewable source to power its needs. Striving to be 100% reliant on solar energy is also a challenge of the insitution. Moving forward after three full years of pandemic restrictions solar power is on the the agenda in its upcoming strategic plans.
