From the main campuses of Foundation University located in Dumaguete City, the solar project has began the expansion at the University’s demonstration farm in Azagra, Tanjay City.
In fact, 10 solar panels were installed at the demonstration farm to suffice the energy consumption needs of the facility in all its daily operations.
Aside from augmenting the energy needs of the farm for the new water pump and the plumbing system for the irrigation, the said move of the University to expand the solar power project is mainly to lessen the carbon footprint.
Thus, the said action maximizes the means of preserving and protecting the environment from harmful factors concerning energy consumption. The amount of energy generated from the solar panels will be utilized for the operations of the water pump – the main water resource provider in the poultry and dairy farm.
Aside from that, the water system will also be used to water the organic farm-grown vegetables and fruits produced in the said facility.
