We are very pleased to communicate that this project is now complete. After a slight delay with implementation (see previous report) a recent review has confirmed that the solar panels are operating well and consistently. Training has been completed with the whole village on how to regularly maintain the panels and battery packs, as well as a support maintenance person established in the village to ensure ongoing support when necessary (plus a little income for them).
Our thanks to our donors and supporters of this project. Without you, we would not have a project to implement. We hope you have enjoyed being part of a solution that doesn't just bring aid, but one that now continuously saves these families and this village money previously spent on lighting and heating alternatives. The time alone saved by villagers and their children previously having to collect and forage for wood and sticks to light fires for the boiling of water is time that can now be spent helping children with their homework, or earning some other income. Children also having clean light to study into the evening is such a benefit for them.
Stay tuned for more Captivating projects that will be posted shortly, and thanks for spreading the word about Captivating to your friends and work colleagues.
Thank you to GlobalGiving for making this donation platform available.
