We have prepositioned 1000 solar lanterns in the Salvation Army warehouse in San Juan in anticipation of this year's hurrican season. While the electrical grid in Puerto Rico is shakey in the best of times, it can totally collapse due to a hurricane.
In the unlikely event these lanterns are are not needed this year, we plan to double the amount in storage that will be available for emergencies next year.
Your donation of $10 will provide three high quality solar lanterns so that three homes will not be plunged into total darkness as the result of a major hurricane.
