By Ana Marie S. Mira | Program Director, Global Peace Women Philippines
On October 17, 2019, I met with the chairman and board members of Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines District 380 in Sampaloc, Manila. We discussed about the next project implementation to benefit children of an indigenous peoples community in Brgy. Poblacion, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro on November 8, 2019. Sixty-seven families will receive their own solar lanterns, and the community will also receive solar streetlights that shall make the village safer for the children and other members of the community. In addition to portable solar lanterns and streetlights, school supplies, hygiene kits, and groceries will be provided.
As we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Month in October, Global Peace Foundation Philippines continuously strengthens its partnership with institutions such as Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines District 380 in promoting the welfare of the children and youth in indigenous cultural communities through its inclusive services and projects. Why not celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Month with us by contributing to this project? Your one-time donation can create a lifetime impact for indigenous children in the Philippines!
