Solar Lamps for 900 Indigenous Filipino Children

Global Peace Foundation Philippines and Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines Inc. (IWCPI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 7 at Club Filipino in San Juan City Philippines.   The signing was attested by IWCPI National Board of Trustees, headed by Ms. Donna Jiao, and Global Peace Foundation International representatives, headed by Mr. Jinsoo Kim, GPF Asia Pacific Regional Representative, and Dr. Soonok Kang, GPF International Vice President and Secretary General of Global Peace Women International.

The signing also aims to strengthen the partnership of both parties in raising funds to provide solar lamps to indigenous children and youth and overall, adopting the All lights Village Project implementation in various indigenous people communities in the Philippines.  Following the signing, GPF and IWCPI will be conducting site validations in different municipalities of Luzon, in coordination with the local government units, to identify IP communities with the most urgent needs.

In the previous quarters, we are able to gather support from individuals and organizations like IWCPI who made it possible so indigenous youth and children from 84 families in Oriental Mindoro can receive solar lamps to help further their studies and general welfare.
